  • Clara is a young golden with the unique privilege of being the center of her parents’ universe.

  • At least, she was the center of the world until they brought home two new foster kittens.

  • Surprisingly, instead of acting out, she simply followed in her parents’ footsteps and made the kittens the center of her world, and she’s a wonderful mom.

  • Watch Clara’s maternal instincts kick in below!

Pet Safety Kit Essentials
& Where to Buy Them

It’s common to be cautious and ensure your pet doesn’t get into too much trouble. Troublemaking is one of the best qualities of pets in general, but we need to ensure that they’re safe.

So, are you ready in the event that your dog or cat gets a little too deep into their mischief and winds up hurt? You could Google for an entire year and never come to a clear answer on what essential supplies you’d need.

So, we’ve compiled a concise list of pet safety items that all of you should have.

Plus, you should have them all in one place in the event of a minor (or major) emergency. Let’s take a look.

*Note: we’re not affiliated with any of the products below. We simply compiled them for you, and it couldn’t be a better time to shop for these products because today is Black Friday. Get them for a discount while you can, and keep your pet safe!

Remembering a Hero: Seuk Kim

pictured above, Seuk Kim

  • Seuk Kim, a man who dedicated his time to flying animals on the euthanasia list to homes and shelters where they could live freely, passed in the line of duty last week.

  • His plane crashed in New York while transporting three dogs to a no-kill shelter, two of the dogs survived but Kim & one of his canine passengers did not.

  • We typically share positive and uplifting news in this newsletter, but we thought it was important to spread awareness of this hero who had saved hundreds of animals’ lives and is no longer with us.

Dog Treat Recall Across 19 States!

Carolina Prime Pet issued a recall of 400 batches of their Holywood Feed Carolina Made Chicken Chips. The treats have been sent to retail locations in at least 19 states, and have been sold online via the company’s website.

Dog in Mineshaft Rescued by Firefighters

A Californian dog strayed and fell down a 50-foot abandoned mine shaft before someone found him and alerted the authorities early in the morning last Thursday.

At nearly 4:00 am, firefighters were lowered into the pit and rescued the dog who was apparently a “very good sport.” This event is a reminder to those living in rural areas to be sure that abandoned mine shafts aren’t present or accessible to your dogs.

The area this dog lives, north of Sacramento, contains nearly 2,000 miles of abandoned mine shafts. This isn’t uncommon across the United States.

Paris Runways Close in Search of Loose Dog

Maya, a small Chihuahua mix, was lost for weeks in a Parisian airport. Sitings of her prompted two runways to close entirely as the airport deployed a drone to find her.

Fortunately, she was rescued and brought back to her owner! Authorities say she was a little thirsty, but otherwise in very good health.
